Our best idea at the sewing party is making a Carlson Family calendar with pictures from the contest.
We have Annie, Erin, Tara, Andelle, Haven, Lynnis and Piri here. Can Annie get added as a blog author? She has so many good ideas.

don't forget the accessories!
How's the work party going????
PLANS!
So I just talked to Tara (and Haven) who are currently hacking tshirts...here is what we decided.
Since Lona may have to work, we will meet in the evening, about six o'clock at Tara's.
Jim will make spaghetti at some point, so we don't really need snacks unless we want them as appetizers.
There will be champange for the over 21s and sparkling cider for the under 21s.
Tara's friend will provide runway music for us.
If we want, as per Piri's suggestion, we can make banners out of the fabric scraps.
Everyone bring a cheap little prize (each person that is participating should bring one) and if you are so inclined, label it with a superlative, e.g. "most wearable"..."most haute couture"..."best use of tshirts". The grand prize will come from Gangang.
Please post a description of the outfit you are entering so I can make cards for the judges.
If anyone has any strong objections to Lona's rubric, speak now or forever hold your peace!
Oh, I was talking about this with Haven: Where exactly will the runway be? Maybe Tara has thought of this already, but there seem to be endless possibilities: the upstairs hallway, the downstairs hallway, the actual stairs...
If there is anything I've forgotten, let me know by commenting!

Fill this out!
Copy and paste this into a comment, but add your responses. I'll do it first...
What time on Friday would you like the gathering to start? ____
Is Tara's house an ok location? ____
What can you contribute for a snack? ____
How will we score outfits? ____
Will there be prizes? ____
Elaborate on anything. I"m trying (again) to figure out the details...rumor has it Tara is working on this as well.

the final countdown
less than 3 weeks left!
Should we figure out the final details??
For example:
*Where and when will it be?
*What are the rules for showing?
*What else needs to be brought? (makeup, hair, snacks, cameras, etc)
*Are we going to make certificates/prizes?

Sewing Party - November 16, Piri's House
Ok, I can take the hint. There will be a sewing party at my house November 16, noon-ish, Pot-luck. I have a nice sewing machine and an old dressmakers dummy. Feel free to bring your own sewing machine, t-shirt scraps, etc. Who's coming?

sewing party
Anyone for a sewing party Nov 15 or 16? Maybe someone centrally located can volunteer their house. (piri, hint hint)
That way we can use each other as models and critics.

slackers
Has anyone else other than me still not done anything? All I did was draw my design and buy tshirts. I'm having trouble starting. :(
Maybe we should have a sewing party???

has anyone ever sewn one? i kind of want to try making a pleated skirt/dress but i'm not sure how the waistband would work. how do pleated skirts usually close??
i suppose i could always just make it like a kilt, then i wouldn't have to worry about it as much...

Almost a Relevant Topic...
There are some fabulous fabrics out this season. How can you resist the new Beatles fabric? Or Wizard of Oz? They even have a Project Runway line of fabrics out.
