PLANS!
So I just talked to Tara (and Haven) who are currently hacking tshirts...here is what we decided.
Since Lona may have to work, we will meet in the evening, about six o'clock at Tara's.
Jim will make spaghetti at some point, so we don't really need snacks unless we want them as appetizers.
There will be champange for the over 21s and sparkling cider for the under 21s.
Tara's friend will provide runway music for us.
If we want, as per Piri's suggestion, we can make banners out of the fabric scraps.
Everyone bring a cheap little prize (each person that is participating should bring one) and if you are so inclined, label it with a superlative, e.g. "most wearable"..."most haute couture"..."best use of tshirts". The grand prize will come from Gangang.
Please post a description of the outfit you are entering so I can make cards for the judges.
If anyone has any strong objections to Lona's rubric, speak now or forever hold your peace!
Oh, I was talking about this with Haven: Where exactly will the runway be? Maybe Tara has thought of this already, but there seem to be endless possibilities: the upstairs hallway, the downstairs hallway, the actual stairs...
If there is anything I've forgotten, let me know by commenting!

the final countdown
less than 3 weeks left!
Should we figure out the final details??
For example:
*Where and when will it be?
*What are the rules for showing?
*What else needs to be brought? (makeup, hair, snacks, cameras, etc)
*Are we going to make certificates/prizes?

The judging
Chrissy gave me this idea for the judging:
| SO last year! (0 points) | Trendy (3 points) | Fierce! (5 points) | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Materials | Where's the tee? | Mostly tee shirt - some materials questionable | All recycled tees - eco conscious all the way!! |
| Design | Cliche, ordinary, ehh..... | Cute, wearable, mass-appeal | Straight from Paris -- haute-couture! |
| Presentation | Who? What? Why? | Like, okay, not bad... | Hot, HOt, HOT!! |
| Theme | No discernable theme - boo! | Nice idea - keep working it!! | Original, fresh, inspiring!!! |
| P.R. Script | Bo-o-o-oring! | You go girl! | Hot, awesome script! |
| Magazine Spread | You'll never make it! | People magazine will love you! | Vogue, here you come! |

Loreal Paris and Tresemme Hair Salon
Please read my comment on Andelle's post ("I sort of did something...Yeah?!) and post your thoughts on what we should do for a makeup room and hair salon. I think assigning each person/family a category might be best (as discussed in my comment)...
EDIT: I'll make this easier for people. This was my comment re Andelle's question:
here is my theory re tresemme hair salon and leoral paris makeup room: before coming to maryland i will go to target and purchase some things (so far I want to buy brightly colored eye shadow) and I guess everyone else should do the same. maybe we should come up with a list of stuff we want (hairspray, hair-ties, eyeshadow, lipstick, whatever) and assign people stuff. what do you think?
make more sense now, andelle?

The official rules?
Here are the rules we were discussing on the car ride back to NJ (I know my mom posted some below...)
1. I've heard it said that outfits must be 50% used t-shirt. So from this I'm coming to the conclusion that the other 50% could be any fabric or material at all.
2. Following from that...accessories and shoes and such can be anything...and I'm assuming shoes can just be whatever ones we have.
3. Will there be one or two categories? Are there enough participants for 2? We were discussing ideas and my mom seemed to be thinking a lot more "high fashion" whereas I was thinking of things I might actually wear in public.
4. Judges? Gangang and Chris? And someone else?
5. People are allowed to exchange ideas and such...as my mom pointed out, on "Project Runway," they are all working in the same room.
6. Will we be forced to do a runway walk?!?! And what are the prizes? (innes asks)
